Sample alerts for community brokers

We informed the broker proposers that we would provide further updates on the status of the call on or before 15 June. Updates and any decision on sample alerts should be agreed with the SAC and communicated today

  • Currently planning to hold to the 15 Dec 2020 extended due date  - no reason to adjust at this time but we will continue to follow the evolution of the virus.
  • We had promised to make sample alerts available Q1 2020, we are late on that. Following discussion with the SAC, decision is that teams should use whatever sample alert data they feel is most useful to them to demonstrate their capabilities, and to be clear about what they are using to show that they are getting goo scientific and technical  results 
  • Communication will be sent to broker proposers today and LDM-612 and LDM-723 will be updated
  • AP team not quite there on serialized alerts - imminent, addressing questions around cutouts and associated documentation, and hope to push out a status this week and eventually put out a community post 
  • Not much feedback  from proposing teams; a DESC group is interested in sample alerts and what they might look like.  They are thinking about how they might generate their own simulated alerts to understand broker functionality
