Project Updates

Wil O'Mullane

  • Changing approach to IT management and security.
    • Alex Withers (LSST Information Security Officer) has stepped down.
    • Discussions are ongoing about a replacement; should be an NCOA role.
    • Identity management note will be forthcoming from Kian-Tat Lim; transitioning to a more LSST-centric system.
  • Organization of T&S / Chilean team (Victor's mail).
    • Redistribute to teams as necessary.
  • No managers meeting
    • AMCL went well — impressed with facility.  DM got one recommendation but it echos the JDR — look into alternative compute platforms or such.
    • Jacques, Michael, Freddy, Oscar, Sergio and the whole team in Chile also orchestrated an excellent operation to move 17 truckloads of TMA from the port to the Site. That is last of the awkward stuff.
    • National Science Board (NSB) in Chile this week — Steve and Bob hosting.
    • Victor to finalise JSR responses this week (not actions on DM at the moment).

  • Michelle is working on 06/10/10b test plans this week.
  • 10a test plan is in Jira, but some subtleties need to be resolved.
    • These are mainly about versioning of input/output notebooks. Agreed they should not let them block the test plan.
    • Time-boxed a couple of weeks to try and make all code reach master before executing the test plan.
    • Otherwise, execute the test plan based on a branch (with caveats).
