DMLT Meeting Goals

  • Weekly meeting to keep the DM leadership team coordinated, informed, and in agreement on the vision, priorities, and challenges facing DM construction, including surfacing and resolving issues and ambiguities needing our attention. The goal of this meeting is to provide information and decisions that help each one of us better direct our own (or our team's) activities.

Wil O'Mullane

  • Victor not going to LSST Asia - Bob Blum will go, Leanne still going. 
    Schedule status same as last week. Victor will go to Spain for TMA .
    Will try to provide extra support to TMA vendor especially in Chile. 
    Attempt to get plausible schedule with all decision points associated with that. Then soon rebaseline.
    DOE are reprofiling commissioning 2020 will not be as big a spend as expected.  DOE could use the forecast for this. 

  • Z brought up horizontal and vertical communication. Monthly reports, or a summary of it  e.g. when is first light ? (NSF report shifts), Jeff Barr as deputy T&S. 
    We should look at the monthly report. 

  • DIMM arriving in Chile in ~a week. Due to be installed in July.

Ops. Rehearsal

Robert Gruendl

  • Ran for three days, representing mountaintop, Science Ops, LDF.
  • Data transferred to NCSA, reduced at NCSA with minimal incidents (a few slow transfers, processing failures).
  • In general, seemed quite straightforward.
  • Prompted useful discussion about the types of QA necessary for nightly operations.
  • Next rehearsal will be more complex.
    • Will be ComCam operations.
    • Likely to be ~December (ish).
  • Will be summarised in DMTN-119.
