LDM-240 updates

Kian-Tat Lim

AMCL has requested a preliminary look at the material by  . Jeff Kantor committed to providing them:

- a summary of the information captured in JIRA and imported into PMCS (with lists of milestones, etc. attached)
- a pair of drill-down examples (one applications, one infrastructure) tracing from milestone to meta-epic to epics to stories, and from metric to epic, organized by release
- a trend table with (Green,Yellow, Red) color highlighting of both epic and story progress on currently completed, in-progress, and planned work

Jeff Kantor believes he can work with Unknown User (rlambert), John Swinbank, Simon Krughoff, Kevin Long to complete these items. Others working on LDM-240 content in JIRA should continue their current activities:

  • Kian-Tat Lim needs to review and define issues to address and discuss prior to Bremerton.
  • Small person meetings to coordinate dependencies will continue in parallel.

We have a hard due date for the full version of LDM-240 by  , as we expect to present this at the LSST 2015 meeting and will present it at the September AMCL meeting. There will be updates during the Bremerton meeting, but the core of the content should be ready by then and only open issues will be addressed at the meeting.

FY16 budgets and staffing assumptions

Jeff Kantor

Jeff Kantor and Kevin Long prepared material for discussion with T/CAMs, but need to verify assumptions about rest of FY15, expect to do this week.

NCSA OpenStackDonald Petravick

NCSA is donating access to an OpenStack cluster; now in "friendly user" mode.  Needs to be prime development environment.  Users need to get Kerberos account.  Developers, SQuaRE, Qserv, SUI expected to use it.  Send E-mail to Margaret and Don to get access.  Not expected to be easy to use for "ordinary users" yet; SQuaRE development will need to occur.

Medium-scale processing runs would go on per-hour compute resources.

Will set up formal compute resource request body to which things like "I'll need to process 1000 CFHT images next fiscal year" should be submitted.
