Decide if there’s desire for an SST meeting on DM All Hands
  • RHL: What will we achieve?
  • ZI: Science should provide guidance to Engineering for datasets and tests we should be checking, aiming for commissioning. Filling out tests at next level deeper than KPM.
  • Jim: Good idea, but does it need a whole day?
  • RHL: Opportunity for self-educating SST. ZI: Lessons from HSC, ZTF, etc.
  • ZI proposes Yes, will spend the day. No objections were heard.
  • If the east coast confirms that they can make it to IPAC by 1pm, we could do a half day and travel on Monday.
  • If Zeljko can write out a full day schedule, then we will do a full day.

Scheduling of PST talks
  • First one is Jim, Jan 30th confirmed.
  • RHL is signed up for photometric data products
  • Other talks are Eric, Mario on solar system, blending (Jim, with Peter or Robert as backups).

Status updates:
  • Gregory: Held SciPlatform workshop, digesting requirements updates from that. Testing WISE in PDAC. Will shut down PDAC soon for switchover to kubernetes, will enable notebook.
  • Gregory: Would be useful to ingest Gaia DR2 into PDAC, make available for crossmatching. No objections were heard.
  • Zeljko: Will we be able to start supporting a small handful of users? Gregory: Yes!
  • Simon: SysEng and comissioning is up and running with JupyterLab, running on google. RHL: Camera seems to have little interest in our software/platform. Would be helpful to have a supported DM stack available at SLAC. Zeljko will address with Camera.
  • Michael: No SST-relevant activity.
  • Jim: Middleware design, minireview coming up next week. Middleware hack week at Princeton following that.
  • Simon: Holding weekly meetings with Commissioning, moving them towards the stack. Next month's goal is an automated characterization report on every nightly build. RHL: Should share experience between HSC and commissioning team, using DM tools. Possibly meeting in Tucson? Simon will follow up.
  • Melissa: Special Programs document has spawned many Jira tickets, progressing as expected. Will circulate slides from a recent UW talk.
  • Colin: Helping Chris with remaining crowded field work.
  • Robert G: lossy compression group is working on plots quantifying the performance of compression. RHL: How will WG verify that science is not harmed---SRD isn't strict enough, so will need deeper verification than WG charter specifies.
  • RHL: Worrying about AuxTel. Falling between the three subsystems. There is a guider working group, T&S + Camera + DM, Robert is on it.

  • Zeljko Ivezic will ask Wil to ask Fritz to provide an effort estimate on Gaia loading. Would be scheduled for F18 cycle.
  • Zeljko Ivezic will address DM software usage with Camera
  • Simon Krughoff will follow up on HSC-Commissioning Team experience sharing
