Documents that pertain to the Data Management System software are summarized below, and are described in detail in specific pages.
The LSST Project and DMS requirements and design documents are controlled, and are accessible through a special repository (which requires an account). These documents describe the DMS system as it is intended to exist by the end of the LSST construction phase.
Test documents are produced in LaTeX, however, since the test cases shall be related with the requirements, and since SE is working to integrate JIRA with Magic Draw, the plan is to generate Test Specifications and Test Reports from information gathered from JIRA. In order to do this, the Test Management for Jira plugin will be used (by Adaptavist). The list of custom fields required by DM are listed in Test Management Custom Fields. Here described the DM Test Approach
The following documents describe the DMS as it exists today, as a functional prototype of the planned system.
The LSST Software User Guide on Confluence is obsolete, and exists only for reference purposes. Documentation on the following DM software products is available: |
The LSST DM Developer Guide documents the processes and capabilities available to LSST DM staff developers. This includes the available machines hardware, the development procedures for planned changes (the version control system, tickets, reviews, merging, etc.), how continuous integration operates, data challenges, etc. This will be the second document a new LSST/DM developer will want to read. |
The LSST DM Release Development material on Confluence is obsolete, and exists only for reference purposes. For details on current release practices and procedures, refer to: |
Data Management Organization documents key facets of the organization and charter of the Data Management project within LSST. The DM Organization and Charter is further elaborated in LDM-294. This page defines the overall organization DM into Lead Institutions/Teams, and cross-functional oversight teams and working groups. |
The Communication and Links material on Confluence is obsolete, and exists only for reference purposes. Refer to the DM Developer Guide for current information. |
