  • I don't have much to report, except my sprint has gone over time and I need to fix that.
  • Still working on the assessment of machine-learned refraction and DCR modeling.  I don't expect this to yield a "final" solution but I anticipate it will inform us as to what we can expect when we do do a final solution, in terms of being able to predict refraction/DCR from colors and airmass alone.

Jacek

  • No bottlenecks, and nothing major to report.
  • One new interesting activity: google cloud team is taking Qserv, including common queries and will be including it in their benchmark they are developing for google cloud.
    • They will be testing it on Amazon cloud and MS Azzure too.

Simon

  • I've just been preparing for the DESC meeting.  This has involved trying to install on the edison cluster at NERSC.  I'm making headway, but I'm not sure I understand fully how to use the module system to make things work the way I expect.
  • I looked at obs_file.  I think the fix is trivial (remove the detector assignment).  I'll implement this and get it reviewed.  Astrometry is not converging on the file I've been testing with, but that seems to be a different issue.

Robyn

  • I've been working on installing all the 3rd party upgrades within the shadow buildbot stack.
    • Astrometry.net was a challenge but the necessary mods to the build package are installed
    • Most of the 3rd party packages have already installed OK
    • The current build has (just) failed in afw due to a problem in XPA not understanding a type. XPA is one of the upgraded packages so there might be some developer time needed.  I haven't looked into the issue yet.
  • DevOps sprint is a month past its close date. You may heap shame on us for our negligence; Jeff may take stronger action since PMCS is therefore not being updated appropriately.
