Notes

Merlin Fisher-Levine

  • Jumped out of a plane.
  • Discussed ComCam temperature with Brian S.
  • Merlin is focusing on generating calibration product production code for ComCam.
  • Currently dealing with TaskRunners; requires some hacky engineering, but we agree that this is ok since we don't think TaskRunners will last for long anyway.
  • Expect that Brian will be working off a ticket branch for the time being.

Andrés Alejandro Plazas Malagón

  • Now has water to his house again.
  • Working on defect finding.
  • Agreed that DM-19334 should be marked as done, assuming it's clear on the ticket exactly which code was delivered.
  • Merlin's work for finding defects on ComCam (above) will then be based on the DM-19334 deliverable.
  • Chasing the “wiggles” in the histograms (DM-19335)
    • Has made a simulation that reproduces in a qualitative way what has been seen.
    • Thinks this is just due to edge distortion; some remaining work done to close this out.
  • Then focus on DM-19336 (Columnar defect identification).

Unknown User (aguyonnet)

  • Visiting his brother to help with his childcare!
  • Following discussion with Chris Stubbs, will be focusing on simulations.
    • “Using simulations to produce an optimal strategy that mixes the LSST photometric, spectrometric and remote sensing capability (MERRA-2)”.

    • Building on the PCWG data challenge.
  • Ongoing discussion with SNFactory folks.
