Agenda and Notes

Comments from any and all on potential reference run enigma_1189  (see new analyses on tusken).  Brief overview from Kem on what was attempted.

  • The new candidate run is on http://tusken.astro.washington.edu:8080/
  • Zeljko says there is a white paper which the PST has "blessed" as the way to move forward with the cadence for deep drilling encompassing all transient science groups.
  • Initially it was oversubscribed by 2x (20% of time) but Lynne was able to create a cadence satisfying the requirements in 10% of the time.
  • A code change will be needed to implement the cadence for Trojans
  • Kem will write up the current cadence for implementation and have Lynne review it
  • We will run it and publish it for various groups to inspect.

Report from Francisco about OCS coordination on Scheduler development plan (not sure they have had this meeting yet, but Francisco thought they would meet this week).

  •  Due to the T/CAM training Wed/Thu and other constraints this meeting was not held, but it isn't anticipated that there will be blockers

Input on revising scheduler/obsim development plan.  I am attaching the original draft.  Both George and Andy have suggested changes which have not been incorporated into this.  I hope to discuss these suggestions and any others.

Discuss proposal to move Obsim/opsim telecons to ‘stand-up’ meetings on Monday and Thursday mornings.

Motivation is that Obsim/opsim gets a reasonable amount of discussion at the simulations telecon on Wednesdays and people should not have to dial in to hear detailed discussions of coding issues as we refactor opsim to obsim and sheduler.  High level simulations’ results can be presented at the Wednesday telecon.  These short telecons are a stand in until Michael gets to Tucson and there can be real ‘stand-up’ meetings.  They will be advertised on AdHoc-LSST-Opsim-Dev.

  • It was agreed this was a good idea and we will meeting at 10a on Monday on https://ls.st/x1v for the first stand-up (this was written after Monday morning (smile))
  • Kem will put out a doode poll to select the optimal times to meet on M and T
