Discussion Items
Time | Item | Who | Notes |
---|
2 min | Weekly meeting | KTL | - Proposal is Thursday 10 AM PT, but that is impossible for Xiuqin.
- New proposals are Tuesday 12-2 if Andy can be convinced to change or Monday 11-1 if Don can be convinced.
- Next meeting the week of June 23.
|
2 min | Roles | KTL | - Clarification of distinctions between teams with nearly the same membership.
- TCT has a reserved time on the first Thursday of the month, but typically votes by E-mail.
|
5 min | Action Request | gpdf | - Packages can be named by their authors; they must get approval from their local gitolite admin to install them under LSST/DMS. The SAT will review all new package names at the next meeting and may request renaming, splitting, or merging then or at any later time. The SAT will prepare guidelines for the gitolite admins. The SAT will periodically review the dependency tree and package names, perhaps during a release retrospective.
|
10 min | Action Request | Jeff | - Jeff's proposal seems reasonable; no objections.
|
1 min | Action Request | Russell | - No objections; the SAT recommends that the TCT accept this change.
|
5 min | Action Request | Robyn | - No objections; the SAT recommends that the TCT accept this change. Creating a more specific identifier is suggested to avoid collisions. In the case of "filter", "filterName" may be appropriate; for filter objects, something like "filterObj" might be appropriate, but more discussion may be needed.
- Robyn is looking into adding coding standards checking to buildbot.
- Russell suggests that we prepare configurations for common editors that would check some of the standards.
|
10 min | Action Request | Jim | - The sense of the SAT is that underscore ("_") is the better choice.
- No translation is needed at any point.
- Distinguishes from VO datasets that are "." hierarchies.
- Is similar to package naming hierarchy.
|
2 min | Devel/Integration Hardware | KTL | - Any questions?
|
30 min | Design Deep-Dive | KTL | - Process of developing deep-dive page needs to be more open.
- Add link to Confluence page in ticket.
- Level of detail seems reasonable.
- Kian-Tat Lim will send out message to lsst-data.
- Use JIRA issues and links for TBDs? Gregory Dubois-Felsmann will check on installation of the Tony Johnson macro for generating action items.
- will be next.
