Project schedule workshop next week - Mon/Tues 3/4 April

Speaker (remote or in-person) for saturated photometry or astrometry at the AAS workshop in June? If anyone in your team is interested, contact Melissa.

Prioritization of calibration system components (CalibPalooza) and definition of DR1 calibration system

First parse at the prioritization of the components of the system designed at CalibPalooza with a view to defining a DR1 calibration system and plans.

We will adopt the DM requirement prioritization system for the calibration system

Sandrine confirms in-situ reflectance measurements can be done.

  • Will we know how good HH will be as compared with a full CBP analysis - will we know how wrong we might be from a systematics perspective?
  • Focal plane backgrounds - 100% software, no hardware needs.
    • Assuming successful non-linearity, gain  offset corrections
    • In HSC amp-offset analysis needed due to lack of understanding of HSC electronics
    • DES used PCA analysis
  • Atmospheric modelling
  • Astrometry
    • Lateral e-filed templates from the flat fields are also an input on this diagram
    • What is the strategy for decoupling the PSF from the astrometry?  What is the metric?
    • True star at known radec, transform by WCS and plot a PSF - then that will look like our image. WCS and PSF together form the transfer function from the sky to the image.
  • Want to make sure that we take all the data we wil need in future - even if it is not needed in the DR1 analysis.
    • Finer spacing than 10A would be advantageous
  • Parker Fagrelius Patrick Ingraham  how long will it take to do a scan as described? No need to scan the whole WL range but will require additional points outside nominal lambda range.
  •
Task review

Review of tasks:

  • RFC for PVI:
    • RG was always worried about consequences for coadds - can we reconstruct science quality coadds from compressed PVIs.
    • GPDF looking for feedback on the quality criteria
  • Gregory Dubois-Felsmann File RFC for all requirements except the prompt products and quality requirements.
  • Leanne Guy Prepare to consult the PST on the question of providing compressed PVIs for AP outputs, to cover the period before the data become available in a DR.
