Project updates
  • JOG -
    • we are on NSF watch list - monthly meetings. Victor keeping Ed informed. Monthly financial data tends to be 5 to 6 weeks behind reality (just closing Oct). Ed Ajhar will be given access to Thursday status page

      https://confluence.lsstcorp.org/display/LSSTPO/Weekly+Status

    • Data summit early Feb. Not clear what this is about yet — need to agree scope. Finalize construction plans and where it fits with operations and  tidy up things like network security.
  • Meeting attendance (large meetings)
    • AAS — not too restrictive — not so many people want to go.
      • 3 comms , 2 DM , 1 EPO, 1 Project office, 1 System Eng
    • LSST@Europe 4 - Many people invited 5 DM people would like to go.
      • We need to supply Zeljko a list of DM people who will be going within 2 days; if you want to go, your name must appear on the confluence page.
      • People interested in giving a remote talk should also add their name to the Confluence page.
      • should make progress on construction - Victor is supportive. This should not be to bring in more OPS contributions anymore.
      • Amanda/Lynne would do remote presentations.
      • Only Zeljko going from Project Office ..
      • Bob and Phil going on OPS - perhaps fund more if we can justify as OPS
    • SPIE -
      • T&S 4 people - 8 papers
      • Project Office - 1
      • DM
  • AAS
    • Potential protestors at the door.
    • There will be press releases — frustration with NSF on details.
    • Open house
      • LSSTC to be worked into agenda
  • How to pin down dates like first light - P6 baseline dates - forecast dates - table of monthly milestones uses this terminology. Some fact sheets are contradictory.
  • Vincent looking for end date of project- LCR-2045. Victor will figure this out
  • All DMLT: Add your name ot the Conferences and Workshops with DM Involvement (including indication as to whether you would give a remote presentation) page if you want to go to to LSST@Europe4, or if you want to give a remote talk.
LSST@Europe

December to confirm speakers - all names not on Conferences and Workshops with DM Involvement

If you received an invitation to present and would be happy to give a remote presentation, please add your name to the above page indicating 'remote'

Monthly report
  • Due December 11th (day after tomorrow).
    • Milestones will be in the report today (before the LCR, by the looks of things).
  • Residual SUIT work will still be reported under the SUIT section of the report.
Sizing & cost model status
  • New tables and substantial additional text explaining assumptions which have been made.
  • This covers the sizing model; there is still more work to be done on costing.
  • Sizing part is now ready for DM-wide review.
Gen3 demo
  • Wednesday 18th December.
  • Have 2–3 people ready to give demos.
  • By request from DMLT, but anybody who's interested is welcome to jump on the BJ.
