Project updates | | - Key milestones advertised at the JSR include the hand over from dome to TMA priority on 15 October.
- Schedule for this looks shaky.
- NSF director will be on site 18 October.
- Victor/Steve/Vincent will be in Washington next week to set expectations in advance of that meeting.
- May be some schedule impacts on DM — not clear what yet — Victor threatening to ping John Swinbank for input this week; will call on the rest of the DMLT as necessary.
- Publications.
- A list of manuscripts that the project will be producing over the next couple of years as the canonical citable material on LSST was circulated by Zeljko Ivezic over the weekend.
- John Swinbank saw a copy just before this meeting; haven't yet had time to digest.
- Several people from DM are listed as primary points of contact (which doesn't necessarily mean lead author)
- Please take the time now to look at what you are being signed up for and work with your T/CAM to understand any impact on your other work.
- Revised commissioning schedule forthcoming.
- Lots of interactions with vendors on scheduling; project trying hard to get on top of this before agency meeting referred to above.
- Filter changer review last week.
- Several issues arising from that will need to be addressed.
- A “laundry list” of 28 items.
- Vincent Riot's recommendation is that shipping from France can go ahead without waiting for all items to be addressed.
|
PST updates | | - Most relevant discussion about papers; Z has nothing to add to the above.
- Decision has been made on naming: “LSST will not change” in the codebase, etc, but not yet public what will happen beyond that.
- Announcement at AAS meeting in January.
- Robert Lupton is “grovelling down” into the T&S software, including SAL.
- Will take some effort away from DM.
|
Data Facility — DOE investigation | John Swinbank | - Some initial thoughts from DM on DMTN-134; feedback welcome.
- Expecting Bob Blum to drive the process this week — more news when we have it.
|
DMLT F2F meeting | | - The next face-to-face meeting will take place in four weeks.
- Please make sure your TR is submitted & your accommodation booked at the Creekside Inn (use that link).
- Please add topic suggestions/requests to the Confluence page this week.
|
Risk Review | | - Review board meeting is tomorrow.
- By this stage, all risks should have been reviewed. Have they been?
|
SPIE, June 2020, Japan | John Swinbank | - The PMO will be coordinating attendance following the procedure/forms at SPIE Conference in Yokohama-Japan, Meeting: 14 June – 19 June 2020.
- Following last week's discussion, I think we know who is likely to go from this meeting from DM, but please jump through the required hoops anyway.
- Also please make sure your team know about the process.
