BIG NEWS! The simulations packages are working on becoming independent of the LSST software stack and are looking for early-adopters to test any remaining installation or documentation or usage issues. If you need to install sims software, please consider installing rubin_sims instead! See https://github.com/lsst/rubin_sim for more information. Rubin_sim includes all of the standard lsst_sims packages EXCEPT for sims_catUtils and sims_GalsimInterface, and imports are similar to the previous lsst.sim.XXX imports (rubin_sim.XXX) so your code should need very little modification.
In the very near future, rubin_sim will replace the lsst_sims code as the supported simulations software. Please let us know if you have any problems with installation or use.
If you do want to install lsst_sims, the latest available version is sims_w_2021_19.
