Agenda/Discussion

Agenda & Notes

  1. OpSim & EUPS - how to install opsim using eups [Michael]
    1. Should we make it part of the stack yet?  Needs further testing
    2. Distinguish bleed version in main.py (automatically or manually?) for Mantis Run log so that we can easily identify which version created a run.
    3. installation
      1. Check code out from repository, make the docs, and follow the prescription should run locally
      2. Setup the database as described in the instructions.
      3. Get sims_operations from stash; switch to branch with distributable "get branch -a"
      4. "scons build doc" - gives directions (scons is a build tool based on python instead of make)
      5. Sphinx documentation (part of codebase) tells how to setup install
      6. Which branch did Michael use as the master"?  V3.2 tagged plus eups
      7. Need to run this branch using python 2.7 - or with setup script like with MAF on ops2 and ops1
      8. Michael to send out lines of set up needed
      9. Process
        1. Setup documentation
        2. Run from local repository
        3. Scons install part of setup then "setup" makes it look like eups distribution
        4. EUPS is the manager eups distrib is the distributor (second step) (doesn't work yet)
        5. Install for now: - get minimal stack - run source loadLSST.csh  then clone package, check out branch, then scons, then setup
  2. Debrief Sprint 15; set up new Sprint  [Kem]
    1. Tier 1 – rerunning with v3.2 [Kem]
    2. MAF conversion - in progress
    3. Francisco back in about a week - Michael to start thinking about DDS and how to implement a separated environment table and sending info to the subscription service.
    4. Michael to complete EUPS and do code review - merge back the directory structure which is very different from master (planned for code review and completion early next week - Simon/Kem)
    5. Michael to work on adding in config files to get ready to mass produce (For sprint 16:  Configuration management system)
  3. MAF -> SSTAR conversion [Cathy – Lynne – Peter]
    1. What is needed in sstar still? Kem (summary at the top is parsed wrong for transient sub-seq proposals) Kem will write a note on which parameters are essential for the Summary (number of obs per filter)
    2. Need response to confluence page that Peter sent out (Cathy)
    3. Current status - Everything except slew stats (unclear still how to do this). Cathy/Kem could do this too.
    4. Check confluence page and maf demo:

Here's the confluence:https://confluence.lsstcorp.org/display/SIM/Replicating+SSTAR+with+MAF%2C+Results

Here's a run with the latest slew stats:

  1. AAS
    1. OpSim meeting during that time? Close up lingering issues regarding handing off MAF and continuing and Simulations)
    2. Side meeting with SUI for DM
    3. DM Hack Day during the meeting - nebulous, asking for people to come to work on "stuff"
    4. Attendees?  Simon (interview for research science jobs), Cathy, maybe Kem (not George)
  2. Status of timeline for the fall quarter (https://confluence.lsstcorp.org/display/SIM/Development+Plans+Fall+2014)
    1. Out of time
