Precipitable Water Vapor

2011-2018 PWV above telescope, and gradient
Comments
- The mean level at Mauna Kea is ~25mm This is so much higher than CTIO (Merra-2 Movies October 2017) and OHP (https://confluence.slac.stanford.edu/display/LSSTDESC/MERRA-2+Data+at+OHP+site) that I find that too high to believe.
- A static lower PWV level is consistently visible over the mountains, at the center of the island.
- There is a systematic positive gradient toward the North.

2011-2018 AOD above telescope, and gradient
Comments
- AOD is around 0.06 on average. This is comparable to what is observed at CTIO. Looking at a few days timestamp, I find the circadian pulsating pattern (between 0.2 and 0.1) intriguing.
- Looking at the E-W, S-N gradient, the spatial variation is found to be small and axis-symmetric. Good.
Ozone
"The correlation of the lower stratospheric (the tropopause to 50 hPa) ozone column with
ozonesondes is 0.99 and the (high) bias is 0.5%, indicating the success of the assimilation in reproducing
the ozone variability in that layer. The upper tropospheric (500 hPa to the tropopause) assimilated ozone
column is about 10% lower than the ozonesonde column, but the correlation is still high (0.87)."

2011-2018 O3 above telescope, and gradient
Comments
- O3 has a strong coherent annual variation : we could start by looking at these parameters VS time of the year in the SNFactory analysis?
