Discussion items
Andy
- Andy is frantically working on the documentation sprint. He has good hope of having this finished by Monday.
- He'll fly down to Phoenix Sunday afternoon in time for the meeting Monday - Thursday.
Jacek
- Still working on migrating Qserv to the new logging system.
- He hopes to also start doing the work of planning Winter2015 wrt database services prior to the meeting.
K-T
- MW report is available in the lsst-data listserv.
- Things are looking good. Steve has some good pictures which are moving and changing - so progress there.
- Since Summer14 has been extended to September, the probabilities of getting butler in there are now a lot higher.
- He got a little bit of work done on that effort last week.
- This week he had a lot of writing tasks to do for: HTCondor folks, the SAT, and next week's meeting. So he won't have a chance to write more code this week.
Jim
- He's mostly processed his vacation email backlog.
- He's still in California where he'd hoped to work with Perry but their schedules didn't match up and Perry is on vacation this week.
- K-T suggested he make a trip down to SLAC; Jim will look into transportation options.
- Jim's trying to pick up the wrk that Perry left. They have a short 2 week sprint this time which never got formally started because he can't press the button in JIRA still. It's timed to end with the start of the AllHands meeting. They are focusing on documentation and a little cleanup so they can get it in before the meeting. Jim will mostly be doing documentation with a little bit or refactoring.
- Question to K-T: since you're so busy should I )Jim) ask someone else to handle the Exception ticket?
- K-T: No, I can look at it.
- K-T: In terms of starting and stopping sprints, he thought last week he also couldn't do it but it turns out he could do it.
- Jim: I've tried over the last few days trying to help debug it...
- K-T: Well, I don't know what privileges] what I have that you don't have.
- Jim: Both Iain and Mario are aware of the problems so it'll get solved eventually.
Dick
- Is finishing up some documention–this time it's iPython Notebooks. He's got 2 or 3 which might be interesting. One of them is jsut a simple rip-off that Andy Becker wrote. This is going well.
- He got a request from Robyn to tatest the v9_1 build and it failed; he's sending an email with the details.
- He hasn't had a change to connect with anyone else on the review of cameraGeometry page but he'll do that soon; that and the next higher level page on Concepts he hopes to have wound up by the end of the week.
- He's started to think about the tutorial next week.
- Wrap-up, Dicks thinks things are going pretty well.
Robyn
- Mario showed up in town. There were a few problems in the scripts that were quickly fixed. A v9_1 Release was cut. It (at the time the meeting) was still rebuilding – it's that fresh. The rebuild is a new installation as an ordinary user to ensure that process works on RHEL6 systems. It's taking longer than the 20 minutes Mario promised if I ran on the /ssd drive. As mentioned by Dick, apparently the OSX install is having problems.
- Post-meeting update: Dick's installation was failing to correctly build a new 'git'. Robyn suggested using the system version instead of rebuilding it and Dick's installation progressed a little further until it stopped in astrometry_net. This error is likely a problem with how Robyn setup the DM patch files for its clang build.
- Being ever optimistic, Robyn said that we should have our V9_1 release by the meeting.
