Discussion Items

Andy

  • Working with Simon and a student on up-revving obs_decamNo Blockers.

    • The intent is to process images with the Stack from raw through image subtraction.
    • The hope is to have this working by the meeting formerly known as All-Hands.
    • The new package appears on github in LSST-nonproject.
    • Dick: are you documenting the process of creating obs_decam? With a little work this exercise could illustrate the process any user would follow to add a foreign camera.
      • Andy: yes, though that documentation will appear in Confluence after we've got things working.
  • No blockers

Jacek

  • Still catching up on status, as this is only my second day back from a long vacation.
  • Closed the June DM Qserv sprint; now working on the July sprint.
  • No blockers
  • Key features in the July sprint: integration with new xrootd client, and refmatch support

Simon

  • Simon is working with Andy and a student on obs_decam. See report from Andy

    • The Camera is ready, the mapper has been re-worked.
    • Just about ready to start processing data to verify the functionality.
  • Simon has been working on task documentation. The hardest part is creating an illustrative, working example for each task.

    • Dick: welcome to my world!

K-T

  • K-T is behind with write-ups. Hope to catch up today.
  • Steve is debugging problems with the nightly computing simulator.
    • An issue with retrieving more than the first image of a visit.
  • Greg continues to work on visualizing the sequence of job execution.
  • Greg has also been working on Docker, which offers cloud support for creating easily deployable containers on machines. It is also potentially a good way to distribute our software.
    • Simon remains interested in this progress
  • K-T has also been focusing on Operations Plans and the concept.

Dick

  • Dick finished the Tour of the Software Stack page for the SWUG. It summarizes what the stack is about, how it's put together and K-T's assessment of component maturity.
    • Also completed a supporting Package & Task Index, which will link to package and task doxygen as that material appears.
  • Dick created a new package repo: contrib/tutorials, which contains helper scripts, configs, and data for exercising the various tutorials.
    • This is in response to Simon's review of the PhoSim processing tutorial, where he asked for the scripts to be versioned.
    • Simon volunteered to take a look at the tutorials package and it's use in the PhoSim tutorial. This is DM-965
    • Dick is also updating all of the tutorials to: a) show users how to retrieve the tutorials package, and 2) eliminate the links to the scripts, which had been attached to the various tutorial pages.
  • Dick has not heard further from Russell re: Butler doc, nor from Jim on his (pending) review of the Measurement chapter of the SWUG.

Robyn (in absentia)

  • DevOps began Sprint 3 this week; unfinished tasks from the last sprint have been moved forward.
