Attendees
- John Swinbank
- Merlin Fisher-Levine
- Andrés Alejandro Plazas Malagón
- Christopher Waters
- Robert Lupton (for the second half of the meeting)
Notes
- Heard a rumour that there was some CTE correction code produced by Snyder that might be contributed to DM — what's the status?
- This was a message from Aaron Roodman, referring to Adam Snyder.
- Merlin has been volunteered to follow up on this; he believes it will be essential to meeting DM requirements.
- He will make a ticket to track this work.
- Asbestos is all gone; full swing of construction underway.
- Significantly time consuming; he's trying to hire a project manager.
- He's had to take several full days off.
- Expecting to spend ~4 days on Rubin this week.
- Attended PCWG meeting on Friday.
- Great talk by Jeremy on Spectractor.
- Huge improvements to the package; lots of good results.
- Changes the way it handles DCR.
- Merlin looking forward to getting this incorporated into our pipelines.
- Great talk by Jeremy on Spectractor.
- Has been learning about Gen3 by doing reviews for Chris.
- DM-24592 will be merged after that review is complete.
Andrés Alejandro Plazas Malagón
- Gave talk on Tuesday last week to SAWG.
- Discussed ISR Confluence page with Robert & Merlin.
- Robert made many comments, and posted them on the Confluence page.
- Andrés will make a ticket to go through all of Robert's comments, responding to the easy ones, and filing new tickets to investigate the hard ones.
- Robert is keen to have all of the Camera work at SLAC replicated at NCSA.
- We discussed exactly what this means.
- Agreed to go through all of the entries Sensor Characterization and ISR page in a group meeting with the four of us + RHL after Andrés has finished responding to RHL's comments (or ticketing them); to discuss this next week.
- Robert made many comments, and posted them on the Confluence page.
- Dealing with detector name ambiguity; see discussion in Slack.
- Worked on DM-25711, QA from the PTC task.
- Comparing various methods for calculating gains.
- Investigating various mask discrepancies etc.
- Updating ISR calibrations to use the new base class.
- This is a “containable mess”.
- Fighting with rebase issues.
- Ultimately, this will all be consistent and use the same interfaces, etc.
- Still handling reviews, as discussed last week.
- e.g. DM-24760.
- Will try and come to this meeting ~once a month from now on.
- Will be updating the PST on the state of DM detector effects.
- Should be a joint effort between Camera + DM; RHL talking to Steve Ritz about it.
- This is what's driving the question of reproducibility.
- ComCam data processing.
- RHL is keen to get “LVV-57-style” automated processing of ComCam data up and running.
- Testing the calibration & generation of calibration products that will be run on the LSSTCam.
- Taking biases, darks, etc and getting them regularly ingested into a calibration repo.
- And use this to monitor the current status of calibrations; look for camera breakages.
- This will ultimately need to happen in an automated way both in Chile and at NCSA.
- We think that probably getting it up and running at NCSA first will be easier.
- ComCam in Chile is under control of the T&S system, so this is an accurate reflection of what operating the real camera should look like in Ops.
- This will require OCPS (in Chile) or modernized prompt processing (at NCSA) to make it automated.
- We agreed that Chris would be available to work on this.
- Timeline: when?
- Not yet clear.
- Probably not before the upcoming Ops Rehearsal.
- Will be disrupted by ComCam move over the next couple of months.
- So either between Ops Rehearsal and that move, or after the move.
- RHL will follow-up to clarify that.
- Chris is not keen to write LVV-57 Gen2 code.
- We agreed that this will be fine.
- RHL will get back to us to firm up timelines and the plan when he has more information.
- RHL is keen to get “LVV-57-style” automated processing of ComCam data up and running.
