Notes
- Spent a chunk of last week on the crosstalk rewrite.
- Works!
- DECam can use the same crosstalk code as everything else does.
- This week: fixing up unit tests, etc.
- Some coefficients may have been transposed relative to previous format, but it's not clear how this has happened; investigating.
- And then working on the overscan rewrite, which has now made it through review.
- Now time for John to punt DMTN-148 to the DMLT.
Andrés Alejandro Plazas Malagón
- Sent DM-23045 for review to Merlin; now addressing comments.
- Relates to DM-18053.
- Used a new metric relative to last week; makes it clear that the correction is being applied adequately.
- Future work — try building a LUT and using that.
- Fixed up HSC mapper to DM-24466; now merged.
- Started work on DM-23762.
- Produced master dark, flat from BOT data.
- Has to check on progress beyond that today.
- And validating crosstalk — following up on DM-23623.
- We do not have inter-chip crosstalk measurement code (but it wouldn't be hard to make, says Chris).
- Needs to file a new ticket to apply this correction to some data with visible crosstalk, and see if it disappears.
- Chris: as we are doing these validation tickets, we should note metrics that are relevant in the LVV-57 case.
- Merlin: recalculate crosstalk coefficients on the corrected data, and you should get the identity matrix. Linearity: new LUT should be a 1-to-1 mapping.
- We note that there are no specific flowed-down numerical requirements on e.g. linearity correction (but it needs to be good enough to not be the tall pole).
- Continuing to get astrometry with Gaia matching.
- Aiming to have this by the end of the week.
- And he will make a ticket to capture this work.
- Then wants to move on to build an AuxTel distortion model.
