Attendees

Notes

Andrés Alejandro Plazas Malagón

  • Attended algorithms workshop; found it useful.
  • Waiting for John Swinbankreview of a couple of tickets (DM-23681, DM-23873).
  • Waiting for review of DM-23623 — Merlin will handle this.
  • Worked with Christopher Waters on DM-23044.
    • Made progress, but still hitting problems with data formats.
  • Then wants to move on to DM-23045.
    • Should  be possible to do this with workarounds even if DM-23044 remains blocked.
  • Also asked by Leanne to review a project paper on weak lensing.

Christopher Waters

  • DM-23044:
    • The way this works in Gen2 is “a ridiculous thing”, where the code writes what it wants to use in any format at all, then it must be convertable to and from FITS, because other steps assume that the data is always FITS.
    • This is not what one would expect!
    • Apparently really does need to be FITS, because afw uses read-FITS code to load the data.
    • Implementing to/from FITS should be doable, although it'll take some figuring out how to read/write nested dictionaries.
    • We are too scared of Gen3 timelines to simply punt this until then.
    • Does provide useful input for calibration products management technote!
    • And will provide the path forward for crosstalk.
  • Still struggling to get gen3 cp_pipe through review.
    • Some obscure bugs here, but nearly there.

Merlin Fisher-Levine

  • Is now in his house, is ready for the apocalypse. Might still disappear when necessary, but back to work.
    • Bought a car. “Going full prepper”.
  • Minimal data analysis needed from the recent run.
  • Haven't looked at any data from earlier run.
  • Needs Spectrator and interfaces available to process all of the data without falling over.
    • Then Jeremy may be willing to use the stack for data processing.
  • Needs a proper sprint planning session to figure out priorities.
    • Aim to do that next week (John Swinbank being out this week with Ops Review).
  • Has many comments from Chris on his rapid_analysis scripts; needs to find time to respond to these.
