Notes

  • Andrés Alejandro Plazas Malagón :
    • Working on generating defects for AuxTel data. (DM-17490)
      • This ticket is effectively done; will go in review to Robert Lupton.
      • Need another ticket to reflect updating defect files.
    • Lots of help from Merlin.
    • Have succeeded in getting defects for TS8 and AuxTel.
    • Giving feedback to people on how to make AuxTel better.
    • Plenty of tickets to move forwards with  (DM-18050–18053, now excl. 18051), plus new create defects ticket (now DM-18749).
    • AuxTel data taking:
      • Would like to be able to get data under different voltage parameters, but this is really part of a bigger issue which Robert Lupton is addressing. Until this is done, there's no point pressing for more data taking.
      • Merlin suggests that changing the “bias voltage” should be relatively straightforward, although most other aspects of the configuration are hard; it's unclear why the current (24V) value was chosen (despite asking multiple times).
      • For now, we wait and see what progress Robert makes.
  • Merlin Fisher-Levine :
    • Built defects machinery for AuxTel on DM-18051.
      • Merlin will rewrite 18051 to reflect what he actually did, and make a new ticket to update the actual defect files (now DM-18749).
    • Talking to lost of people about lots of things, including AuxTel data taking, ingest of AuxTel data, merging Craig Lage's PR.
      • Next priority is the Lage PR.
    • How should we be prioritising the AuxTel pipeline vs. Merlin helping out other people and fixing things?
      • This needs to be based on a holistic understanding of what needs to be done for the AuxTel pipeline and how long it will take.
      • Should sit with Merlin, Robert, & me to figure this out.
      • Merlin would like a little more time (a week or two) working on AuxTel before we do this.
  • Unknown User (aguyonnet) :
    • Working on Gaussian Process fits, as discussed with Robert Lupton a month ago.
      • Works well, but is very slow; unable to model 10 year data.
      • Discussed this with Clare Saunders (who will be joining LSST) and some others, who will be helping him make this faster.
    • Comparing SNFactory with MERRA-2.
      • Has demonstrated good agreement, but there are some systematics.
      • Waiting for more precise observation dates from SNFactory to see if intra-night variation is responsible.
      • Bad match for aerosols from MERRA-2 vs. SNFactory. Where is this coming from?
        • SNFactory does not see annual modulation.
        • Still a work in progress, comparing the “aerosol exponent”.
    • Received comments on the paper from the coauthors; continue to draft.
      • Final round of comments and drafting happening now; hoping to have a draft ready for internal review “soon”.
