Attendees

Notes

  • Unknown User (aguyonnet) has limited time today; let's start with him.
    • As of two weeks ago, we expected a “final first draft” of the paper in a couple of weeks; how's that looking?
    • Any other news to discuss?
    • All work is on paper; nothing else ticketed.
    • Paper is available on Overleaf (see link in previous meeting).
    • “Moving away from LSST stuff” — the paper is more general than that.
    • Not comparing satellite data to any given telescope in this paper; it is a general discussion of how to apply satellite data to any site on earth.
    • Todo list:
      • Adding more aerosol data, compensating for data which was slow to download during the govt shutdown.
      • Split data into night vs. day, checking for systematics.
      • Understanding oxygen data in MERRA2.
    • Expecting this paper to be ready for submission in February.
  • Who will be going to the DESC meeting?
  • AuxTel Pipeline.
    • Todo list on DM-16699? Other progress?
      • Lots of reviews etc, but no progress on the AuxTel pipeline.
    • John Swinbank has not talked to Patrick about LATISS timeline; he is a bad Camel.
  • Sensor characterizaton and ISR.
    • Status update on the giant table.
      • Two telecons with folks from DESC discussion sensor effects and identifying which are important.
      • And trying to figure out how to use SAWG people to help.
      • There will be another meeting in a further two weeks, then potentially at the DESC meeting.
    • Andrés Alejandro Plazas Malagón started on chasing down defects on Friday. Any news on that?
      • Old AuxTel test stand (TS3) data cannot be easily ingested with the current version of obs_lsst, thanks to the astro_metadata_translator changes.
        • Errors calculating visit ID.
        • Doesn't know what the observation types are.
        • Produces a lot of debugging information.
        • Merlin Fisher-Levine reckons it would be easy enough to update this data to work with the new system.
        • We will ticket this, but not work on it immediately; Andrés Alejandro Plazas Malagón can make progress based on TS8 data.
        • But we will have to return to this in a few weeks.
    • Finding hot pixels in TS8 data; working on that this week.
      • Related to problems he worked on at the bootcamp.
      • Merlin & Andrés swapping algorithmic ideas on this call.
